We are on an exciting journey of creating a better IKEA and finding new ways to enable our vision – to create a better everyday life for the many people. We want to reach more of the many people, create more value and make IKEA better. Within New Business & Innovation we explore, design, and validate new innovative businesses, business models, services, and solutions to make this happen! To join one of our amazing teams within New Business & Innovation, we are now looking for two master students to strengthen the team in the explore & ideate phase of the innovation process. Please note that we are looking for two students who want to write a Master Thesis together at IKEA. Only one application/group of two is needed.
With that said, are you:
Studying business or financial management and will write your master thesis to the fall starting September 2023?
An entrepreneurial spirit with bold ideas and motivated to learn new things?
Motivated to work in the unknown and navigate in an ever-changing multidimensional environment?
Driven by learning more about Platform viability and monetization flows to grow our business?
Curious to measure and evaluate impact on business results?
Great at communicating written and spoken in English?
Open to work in an agile and adaptable way?
Are you also creative, collaborative, and passionate about creating revolutionary new business opportunities in a global multifunctional set-up? About New Business & Innovation
As part of Group Strategy, Development, and Innovation, the New Business and Innovation department is leading the creation, development and innovation of new services, viable businesses, business models, and innovative solutions to secure that Ingka and IKEA are in the forefront to meet future challenges and opportunities. The team consists of passionate creative business developers and innovation leaders, with strong customer focus, working in alignment with set roadmaps, objectives and goals.
We are located in our vibrant global office for Ingka, Hubhult, Malmö. Across the street from the IKEA Malmö Store. We believe you as a master thesis student will join us here majority of the time.

This Master Thesis period will run for approximately 4 months with starting date in September 2023. We kindly ask you not to apply if this don’t match what your education will offer you in the fall 2023. We are looking for two students who have agreed on writing together, please only send in one application/group of two.
Please send in your CV + Motivational letter in English. Make sure to describe why you want to write your master thesis at IKEA in your motivational letter. Once again, we will only accept applications if you are enrolled in an education offering Master Thesis. No exceptions will be made. We only accept students that live or will live with commuting distance to the office in Malmö during the time for the internship. No exceptions will be made.
This is an unpaid Master Thesis. No exceptions will be made.
